Blowing Coolant
I have a 2016 F150 Lariat Super Crew with a 2.7 ecoboost with 173,000 miles on it. The truck runs excellent except I've recently began losing coolant without any signs of leaks except for an unusual amount of moisture out the tail pipe. I've researched the issue and was told its probably a leak or crack in the exhaust manifold that's built into the head. The service writer at my local dealership said he inquired with his heavy line mechanics and they suggested with the mileage on this engine that I should replace it. He quoted me $12,500.00 for a complete new engine with turbo's, that of course doesn't include labor. My question is does anyone know of this failure, if its true does it make any sense to repair it with new heads or scrap it for all new engine and if a new engine were to be chosen can the 2nd gen 2.7 engine be installed in my 2016? Appreciate your input, thanks.

Can't answer your question on whether a 2nd gen could be installed or not.
Before I decided to swap heads or the engine I would dang sure give some coolant leak sealer a try. GM used to use it OEM on the Northstar engines because they were notoriously hard to seal. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the stuff they used, but I imagine a Google search using Northstar would turn it up. Edit: this is it.

A new, 2.7L crate engine is absolutely $12k. Not remanufactured, which would just be a short or long block, no turbos, but a full, brand new crate motor.
OP: Have they pulled the turbos and pressure tested to see where the coolant is leaking? It's likely to be only one head, and replacing just the one head is going to be a lot cheaper option. They'll still kill you on labor, but heads are only about $1700 each.

Nobody from the dealership or anyone else for that matter has looked at the truck, the dealership did the 100K service on it but the truck hasn't been touched since. Replacing just the head would be cheaper of course but is it throwing money out that may have to be spent on an engine with 173K. The truck runs strong as all of my F150's have and the idea of spending 70K to replace it doesn't excite me at all. I'm guessing an all new power trane with trans would be approx 20K. Thanks for your input.
