Default BLIS Question

All-

I have a question about the BLIS system. My truck has it currently and I am pondering buying and installing tow mirrors without the BLIS functionality. The question I have is-does anyone know if installing mirrors that dont have the BLIS functionality cause the system to fault out?

I suspect that without the proper mirrors I will be dealing with constant dings and nannies from the truck telling me the system is not functioning properly-but I wanted to float it out there to see if anyone has experience with this.

Thanks in advance forany feedback you can provide.

On my truck I have tow mirrors with BLIS (factory installed). I know what you are describing is a different situation. However here is my idea/suggestion.

On the dash there is a menu option to disable BLIS, reference your manual for specific instructions for your model truck. When you get your new mirrors (without BLIS) installed I would just disable the BLIS system and I think it would be fine. Best of luck and keep us posted.

You have to turn it off every time you start the truck.
It auto defaults to On and I don't think you can change that.

Also, there's a light on the dash that says BLIS off when you turn it off, so you'd have to stare at a warning light every day.

It will show a a fault til you turn it off, not sure if you have to turn it off every time you start it tho. I would just pay the extra $$ for the blis in the mirrors, just my 2 cents.
