Default BLIS Calibration...???

Driving home on the highway last night I could watch cars on my driver side mirror disappear into my blind spot and be "gone" for a good second or two before the orange light in the mirror light up to tell me there was a vehicle there. Is there a calibration process that can be gone through? Or dis this something that it needs to go to the dealership for?

I don't think I have had that issue before, I can play with mine this morning on the way to work.

I'm rarely on a highway so haven't paid much attention to this. I will say however - coming from my last truck with tow mirrors I am thankful to have the BLISS on this truck with regular mirrors. It's just hard to get to trust it at first.

What mine does get used a lot for is backing out of parking spaces in a busy lot. It's almost too active for that but that is OK.

One thing I will mention here is that I try to keep the tail lights clean in the winter which is almost impossible while driving. I can see that when a layer of salt and grunge gets built up on winter roads could affect the sensor's sight.

Definitely not my issue. (minus that it's not winter) I wash my truck at least once a week by hand, and the day I noticed this, I had just washed it that morning...

I notice this lag as well. I decided to put small convex mirrors at the bottoms of the mirror lenses on both sides. It helps.

Had my appointment yesterday. Exactly what I expected, they couldn't find anything wrong... System worked exactly as designed for the tech when he drove it. However I was told that he did a system reset BEFORE he drove it, so I was hopeful. (Yet I was confused as to why they wouldn't drive it FIRST, before making ANY changes, to see what the customer was complaining about...???)

I only had a few cars pass me on the way home because it was pouring rain when I picked it up. Most of them looked like the BLIS worked the way it is supposed to, one car however disappeared before the indicator came on... So it's still having the same issue. I'll give it a day or two and see how it works for a few days, then probably take it back again if it keeps up.

Cars disappearing into my blind spot, is exactly what this system is designed to detect!!!
