I'm trying to find some piano black pillar posts for my STX that won't break the bank... anyone here have some ideas? Of course I've searched the forum and I see PUTCO all over but their stuff is ungodly expensive...($150+ for pillar posts???)

You could get yourself some gloss black vinyl, and wrap them. The "B" pillars are very easy to do. Less than $20.

Check out Ferreus Industries, I order some piano gloss black pillar cover for my crv from them and they looked great, they should have them for your f150 as well.

what is the best way to vinyl wrap them?
using a razor blade to trim the vinyl around the windows/trim?
what about the door keypad? Just pop it off or wrap around it? I’m considering doing this, I’m tired of looking at my scratched up factory ones! Not sure why ford used that type of plastic/clear there in such a highly visible area!

What I did was peel back the weather stripping on both doors adjacent to the pillars. On the drivers door, you'll see 4 screws holding the pillar in. Remove those, and wiggle the cover off. The keypad is clipped in at the top, and can be removed. I just let mine dangle inside the truck, and put the cover back on loosely.. Cut your vinyl large enough to cover both pillars, apply, and slit straight down the center between the covers, you can hide the front and back edges with the weatherstripping. Reassemble, and that's it. Very easy to do on those flat surfaces. Use a squeegie with the felt cover so you don't scratch the vinyl.
