Default Bilstein 5100s

Just got my shocks installed all four corners and some Cooper Zeon LTZ 275 60 20s. I got the B8 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable Front 0-2" (24-248129) for the fronts and the B8 5100 Series 0-1" Lift Rear (33-253190) for the rears. So first off the dumb f*%ks didnt adjust the height of the fronts to the maximum height like I told them they left it at its lowest. Secondly they installed the rears upside down and i told them to make sure, after some research the consensus is boot down because of drain hole and upright writing on the shock. But my question is, is there a adjustment on the rears or they are just automatically set for 1" higher. I have to take my truck back so they can correct their mistakes and I want to make sure I have all info the possible info. Thanks in advance.

Rears are not adjustable and should be installed in accordance with the instructions - boot down.

This seems to be a common pair of problems. I believe Bilstein ships these shocks with the retainer at the lowest setting. And for some reason the magazines and the internet have convinced everyone that if a shock has a boot it goes on the top...

Sorry you are having to go through this. You are not the first one on the site that I have seen.

I just installed Bilsteins too and the boot was up. Honestly I dont know if that's correct or if it should be boot down. Not sure why it isn't so clear in the instructions or something.

How about a pic with the Zeons on? I would like to see what those tires look like on our F150s!

The rear shocks don't raise anything...they're just saying they have enough extra travel to accommodate another 1" of lift.

Mine were unfortunately installed boot up over the winter. I even specifically asked the local shop if that was correct and they said it was. I'm hoping to get them flipped sometime this spring. And, I asked them to put the fronts on the 1.75" setting but they put it on the 2.1" setting. At least I got a discounted price because they screwed that part up. I really wish there was more than one place in Des Moines Iowa to get that type of work done.

Just flip them yourself. I literally installed the rear 5100's on my truck in under 30 minutes total and without even jacking up the truck. Crazy to pay someone to do something so simple.
