Default The bezel that shouldn't exist?

So I recently added climate menu using Forscan on my 2019 RCSB XLT

I wanted to make use of the auto climate feature, however, to do this on an XLT you need a lariat or higher HVAC control bezel.

It's a quick swap, takes like 5mins. Dual climate control won't work, but auto climate control will.

Here's the issue;

My truck doesn't have heated seats or a rear defrost, so I didn't want a bezel with those buttons (OCD would drive me crazy having buttons that don't work).

So I found a bezel that has dual/auto climate, but doesn't have buttons for the heated seats or rear defrost.

Part number: GL3Z18842AAB

Fits: 2015-2020, with dual zone ac, without heated back window, without heated seats.

Part listing can be found here: https://www.oemfordpart.com/oem-parts/ford-heater-control-gl3z18842aab?c=Zz1ib2R5JnM9Y2x1c3Rlci1hbmQtc3dpdGN oZXMmbD0xMDAmbj1Bc3NlbWJsaWVzIFBhZ2UmYT1mb3JkJm89Z i0xNTAmeT0yMDE5JnQ9bGFyaWF0JmU9NS0wbC12OC1mbGV4

However, from what I've researched, this bezel technically shouldn't exist...

All XLT's (even with the luxury 302a pack) don't come with dual zone climate control.

And all Lariats (even the base 501a pack) come with heated seats.

My question is, what vehicle does this bezel come from? What are the origins of this part?

It must come from a Lariat or higher trim (because it has dual climate, but a also from a vehicle without factory heated seats).

It's discontinued, but I was told that if I can get an engineering number for this part, I may be able to locate one locally.

This would allow me to have auto climate in my truck, without having all the extra buttons.

Either that, or I deal with extra buttons that don't work, or forever roam wreckers yards in search of this seemingly rare bezel.

Tl;Dr I found a climate control bezel (GL3Z18842AAB) with dual zone ac, without heated seats or rear defrost, and believe it shouldn't exist because XLTs don't have dual climate, and all lariats + have heated seats.

I would appreciate any info the forum can provide, thanks!

It might be for a model that is sold overseas or Mexico.

That's very possible! They may offer trim packs with different options than here in Canada.

I was thinking possibly a police responder, maybe with dual climate in a crew cab but one without heated seats or rear defrost.

Like a hybrid between an XLT and a Lariat that isn't accessable to the public?

However, I've heard those vehicles are quite bare bones and maybe wouldn't have dual climate.

Its hard to say without more information available.

So I got an update;

Part number is: GL3Z18842AAB

Engineering number is: GL3T18E245AAA

No word on what exact truck it came off of though...

They called radio department and said the part number is still good, even though it's discontinued.

They said it would be about $500 and take about 3 weeks.

It's not a necessity right now, so maybe down the road I'll set it up.
