Default Best video for replacing the backup camera

I watched a number of videos for replacing the backup camera on my 2020 F150 and this one is the best:

It is actually about replacing the tailgate handle, but replacing the camera is part of the process.

Some things I did different:
1. I put painters masking tape on the tailgate, around and below the tailgate handle to protect the paint.
2. After I removed the tailgate handle, I unscrewed the screw that holds the camera, removed the camera and put the handle aside. I then un clipped the wiring harness from the camera. I found this less awkward than holding the handle, while removing the wiring harness.
3. I cleaned the tailgate latch mechanism and sprayed it with silicone.
4. I put some dielectric grease around the camera harness, before sliding on the wiring harness.

Or wait a couple of months, and have the dealer do it for free.

I called my dealer and they said my vin is not included in the Ford extended camera warranty. I also plugged my vin into the Ford Recall page and nothing came up for my vin.

The dealer wanted $170 dollars to verify it is a bad camera, $166 for the camera, plus the labor to install it.

I replaced it with a new one. Cost was $77 from an on line Ford parts dealer.

I haven’t tried the zoom, but have the lines when backing. It is the same OEM part number that was installed in 2021 under the recall.

I did read that if you have the basic backup camera, which I have, it will calibrate itself after driving. If you have the 360 backup camera system or the pro trailer backup, then it will need to be calibrated by the dealer.
