Default Best method for sealing tailgate?

I tried searching and didn't come up with much, but what have owners found as the best method of sealing up the tailgate from dust intrusion? I have a Trifecta 2.0 tonneau and it actually seals pretty well though not perfectly, and I've installed the Access 30946 TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket as pictured below. Still, I drove on a dirt road the other day for about 10 miles and got a surprising amount of dust inside.

I suspect the biggest contributor is the area above the rubber block near the top of the side (see pic immediately above), can anyone confirm that that is the culprit and does anyone have a good solution?

I thought about buying another seal kit and this time installing it on the tailgate instead of in the jam, anyone tried that?

Couldn't you just put seal up above the stay-block too?

Also, looks like bottom corner might not be actually contacting/sealing - worth chalking or talcum powdering the seal to see where it does, and does not contact the gate when closed.

Truxedo have a seal kit, and there's this one too: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0007M1U...v_ov_lig_dp_it

I tried one of those gasket kits (Truxseal or something like that) and it didn't do anything to keep dust out, didn't fit well at all (was too tight in some spots so there was always pressure on the tailgate and huge gaps in other spots). I ended up taking it off and tossing it. If there is actually a kit out there that works I would go for it, but if you look at how the size of the gaps between the tailgate and bed vary in size there is no way that a regular gasket sold as a truck kit will work. You would have to have something that varies in thickness at the right spots in order to actually work.

For the exact reasons you mention I may try this...
Amazon Amazon
It is quite a bit thicker than the existing tailgate seal kits and thus might accommodate the gaps you're describing. I'll report back if I do try it.

i thought i remember reading that the lower tailgate seal (like the one you have) isnt thick enough to actually correct the gap...i think the sides are ok.

I cant find it but they make a seal that actually covers the whole gap from your bed to the tailgate...its advertised to keep dirt and stuff from falling in the gap when you are doing things like shoveling gravel out of the bed.

I used the Ford kit. It may not be the best but was a vast improvement over nothing. It's usually available on Fleabay.
