BedTred Installation Tip
I am probably just a little bit on the OCD side when it comes to installation of things for my truck. I recently installed a Bedtred bed liner in my new Lariat. After watching a few installation videos and seeing anything from box knives to awls being used to make the holes for the box link brackets, I decided to give something else a try. A 1/2" hole punch works perfectly. I screwed the factory bolts into the holes after removing the brackets, then I found that I could use the open end of the hole punch to "find" the bolt heads through the liner, then a twisting action of the hole punch (back and forth) actually cuts the holes so that the bracket bolts will easily clear the opening. (See pictures). I understand that the holes do not even show when the brackets (and tie downs) are reinstalled, but the cleanly cut holes should not ever tear or rip as they could if cut (or over cut) with a box knife. Hope this works out for you as good as it worked for me. Very clean...
