Default Bed Extenders!

Let's hear it guys, what brand Bed Extenders are you all using? I been looking at an AMP Research HD. Any other/better options out there? Post pix if you have them!

I've been using the OEM bed extender and it serves me well. I like that it can be folded in half and stored against the side of the bed. Had one on my 2012 which was sold with the truck. Immediately got another one for 2017 because it's so handy. Have a toneau cover and usually put my groceries in the rear and the extender prevents things from shifting forward. I use the plastic tubs shown to hold groceries, propane cylinders, etc. Very hand to have combined with the bed extender.

It is not a lot of help to the 5.5' owners, but I ordered the built-in 6.5' bed. No additional pieces required.

Is it easy to remove in case you want to LineX the bed? Like to see a picture of the built in version as I have the 6'5" bed...

I installed the AMP Research HD and it has served me well. I have had the standard non HD in my previous trucks and I think I like the original better. The HD version is almost too big/deep for the small bed. I don't regret it as I have gotten a lot of use out of it as these 5 foot beds are small. Installing it in the aluminum bed is tricky as we are not supposed to use steel screws in the aluminum. I ended up using aluminum screws. Soft and weak but they are holding it in place so far.

Pretty sure he’s poking fun at shorter beds saying he doesn’t need an extender I have the Ford one but haven’t installed it yet. Soon as I get around to picking the linex out of the bolt holes I’ll put it in.

6'5" bed still needs an extender for anything longer than, well 6'5". There is always something just a few inches longer out there.

I use the OEM extender, this is my 4th Ford with it and I love the way it folds out of the way, and also can either make a little pocket in back for tools when closed or out onto tailgate for longer loads.

Try using stainless steel screws. They're reasonably compatible with aluminum. Use some Tef -gel as a corrosion preventative.

OK...... I still use my bed extender all the time hauling plywood and sheetrock even with the 6'5" bed...
