I know you get better fuel mileage with your tailgate up, vs. down. The wind creates a high pressure area in the bed of your truck, to give it a more aero dynamic effect. I do not know if a bed cover does the same, or if it's measurably different. I'm willing to bet though, it doesn't help.

As stated above. It will not be measurable by our methods and likely will be non-existent as you are also adding weight to the truck. I am doubtful any gains would offset any loss.

No. In my experience it makes no difference. Don't get a cover just expecting better mpg.
