Beam Type Wipers
I've been having issues with different wipers on my truck. The OEMs it came with are no longer made. I've tried the newer Motorcraft wipers, ICONs and several Tricos. After several months they begin to not wipe under the middle where the arm connects. The ICONs did this out of the box. I have a set of Trico Silicon Ceramic wipers now since September. They are supposed to last 3 times longer but they are now starting to show signs of not fully wiping under the connector. Of course that's where my eye level is.
Anyone else have this issue. Beginning to think my wiper arms are too week somehow or I need to go with the conventional frame wipers.

Rock Auto lists 2 Motorcraft options, a standard WW2248 and a premium WW2202PF. Do you remember which one you tried? I recently swapped over to the premium and don't have any issues.
I used a pair of the nicest motorcraft blades rock auto sells. They streaked fast. I’ve been getting a year + (they get changed yearly no matter what) out of the Anco high end blades they have.
I don't know what I had previously on my vehicles, the brand wasn't proud enough of their product to mark them indelibly so I could buy another set. Or better yet, to avoid buying same again. And I forgot to write it in my logbook app. Whatever they were they stink, stank, and stunk.
This time I purchased "Michelin Endurance XT Advanced Silicone Wiper Blade Last 2x Longer" from Walmart (so it might be a Walmart-only model). A year later I am still happy with the selection. On F-150 and Subaru Outback. Was $50 each vehicle.

The factory beam type blades that came with my truck were great. But Ford must've made some changes because the last beam type Motorcraft blades I got didn't last very long and began streaking early on. I''ve gone back the the Bosch Icons and they work great as always. They're pricey but I've never gotten less than a year of use out of Icons.
Strange. I've used both the Motorcraft wipers and Icons with good results. I have a pair of Icons on the truck now, that I think were changed last spring, and they don't streak at all. I'm particular about wipers and change the blades when they start to streak to any noticeable extent. If I have a lot of bugs or ice on the windshield, I scrub/scrape them off with something else rather than run the wipers over them, which quickly tears up the edge of the blade and causes streaking.

No matter the brand, they begin to smear under the connector which is right at eye level. The LAST set of ICONs did this out of the box. Bosch told me to pound sand when I complained.
Wondering if there is something on the truck, wiper arm related that would cause this. The driver side will do this first. The driver side will also begin to skip first.

The springs in the wiper arms are weak. Could be a production issue as my 2015 is older than a 2018, but any wiper arm that is placing proper pressure on a top level blade like Bosche, whether it's a conventional, hybrid or flat blade (frameless, like Icons), will not have issue putting the center part of the wiper on the windshield.
Why do I think it's an arm issue? Icons are winter blades, which means they are made of a softer rubber and require less pressure to sit against the glass than regular wipers. If you can't get a set of winter blades to sit against the glass at anything above -40ºF, you've got a pressure problem.
Wiper blades tested.
I have the RainX without the treatment and they were OK for a few months. Now they leave a pattern in about the area where the blade attaches to the arm. Right where I look. They also drag a good deal of water back across the windshield when they sweep to the right, which is especially annoying when you simply want to wash the window.
