Based on what you wrote, it does seem like there's more that should be available via tune than what you are getting

Take one look at those two tunes, and I think you have your answer about why the performance isn’t what you expect. Not all tunes, and not all tuners or even in the same league.

And there is an even bigger step up going to 93 performance. So much so that after having a small (tiny) post accident body repair done at the dealer, in which I put it back to stock when dropping it off, I accidentally loaded the perf/tow tune for the drive home, in the rain, and didn't like everything I knew I was missing out on by having the perf/tow vs straight perf. In the rain, just driving home.

Sooo, what I'm saying is, you aren't asking too much, because stock to a good tune (like my 93 Performance) is night and day and it drives like an entirely different animal. But also, which tune specifically you are using makes a difference, not all tunes are supposed to have the same impact, even from the same company

Which of their tunes are you using? Are there more performance oriented ones? What octane are you running?

Because, like, if I was running the 5* 87 perf/tow that I got (never loaded) I wouldn't be surprised if I said the same things you did. But running a 93 perf is a different world.

So make sure you at least have the tune they offer that is best suited for what you are looking to get before you write them off. And make sure that tune is for, and you are running, the premium gas octane you have in your area
Well I might agree with the comment about 87 octane tunes under some circumstances. Five stars 87 octane tune is incredible on the 3.5 L

Do you have before/after track data?

My LMS 93 perf tune got me a full second+ in 0-60 & qtr mile (mid 5's to mid 4's, low 14's to best 12.98), plus improved driveability & FE (+.5) when driven with restraint. Seems pretty good to me.

No, I don’t take my truck to the track. I just timed it 0-60 and its almost the same, everytime. Going with someone else!

Really hard to say what might be going on with the OP's situation. I have no experience with any other F150 tunes, or tuned trucks, just my own before/after experience that I offered for relevance.

I'm sure there are tunes out there with bigger gains, etc.. It all comes down to where you want to compromise. My own experience has revealed the LMS tunes provide significant improvements, and are safe for daily use, thus far (~20K), on my truck.

I hope he finds something he's happy with.

Personally, comparing to my experience with LMS, this is the problem.
