I need to replace the battery on my 2018 F 150. It currently has an H6 size battery and was wondering if anyone has replaced the H6 with an H8? It looks like an H8 might fit with minor modifications to the battery box.

Yes the battery is dead, I have checked it myself, I also run a 12volt fridge which has helped with the premature death of my current battery, that is why I want to upgrade to a larger battery.

The BASM-49H8-850 comes in the 3.0 diesel, so I would assume it would fit. I changed mine from a H6 to H7 and it had plenty of room. I just had to modify the insulation blanket.

 

Did you or are you going to change the battery size and or type in the computer?

 

I'm not sure who you are asking, but I change it with FORscan and reset the BMS.

 

The blanket will be to small for the new battery. Make sure you put it on the side facing the engine for some heat protection.
