Default Battery Drain

Have 2018 Ford F150 Lariat. Started having battery drain issues about 8 months after delivery of new truck in 2018. Since that time I have had several new batteries replaced under warranty by Ford. Also had their Field Technician test for battery draws over several days. Various things (shifter, electronic brake) have been replaced, but Ford never successfully diagnosed what was causing battery drain resulting in a dead battery. Recently, had diagnostics run by an independent mechanic recommended by AAA. He identified the battery draw as being caused by an "Accessory Protocol Interface Module" malfunction. Did not realize APIM malfunction could result in a battery drain but I'm not a certified mechanic. Although the issue may now have been identified, what are the various options for fixing it? Not keen on having Ford do the work as their service has been disappointing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

IF......you are going to accept the latest "diagnostics run by an independent mechanic". Then, I know of only two options 1) reset the APIM module (then check to see if issue is resolved) or 2) replace the APIM module. Additional info - the APIM module is part of multiple CAN communications networks so...... I THINK, it could be the the APIM module or any of many modules that are part of these CAN networks. I know - not alot of definitive help.

Thank you. Do you have any specific instructions on how I would go about doing APIM module reset?

Most electrical modules can be reset by turning off and then turn on again. In this case, pull fuse powering APIM module. I do not have diagrams for your particular model but believe fuse #32 - 10amp on BCM (fuse panel behind the right outside wall/panel of passenger footwell) (PS - Look at your owner's manual for details)

Thank You. Manual shows Fuse #32, 10A, and components protected as Multi-function display, SYNC, Radio frequency receiver. Located in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel. Will try to remove the trim panel this weekend and pull the fuse. Am assuming I simply will remove the fuse and reinsert the fuse while SYNC is on?
