Default basic audio upgrade - speaker replacement

OK so my crew cab has the basic radio setup with the 8 inch sync system. no sub. "7" speaker system.

I was thinking about starting off trading out all the speakers. Not sure if I need to trade out the center speaker. but first pass was to do some component setup for the front - with the pillar tweets off the component set - then a 2 way for the rear door.

Not wanting to get a new amp and do all that at this point. What speakers do people like to use? I was leaning towards infinity kappas or something like that as a 6x9 component front and a 6-3/4 2 way in the back.

Then I don't know but I might could be talked into a sub.

I put kickers in all 4 doors and the dash speaker. In the A-Pillar I put infinity tweeters. I've been very happy with the sound. I would like to find the kicker factory sub setup to add to it, but honestly it sounds pretty good without so I'm just waiting for a great deal on it.

Do you happen to have model # for the kickers and the infinity tweeters?

I called Crutchfield and they were very good at explaining what I needed. I just replaced the speakers in the door and it helped a lot. They cost more but for me the advice was worth it.

I went with Rockford Fosgate, 100% buy from Crutchfield, they send you mounting hardware and plugs, etc for the same price as Amazon and they are usually 2 to 3 days for shipping.

I didn't change out the pillars as of yet, Crutchfield is so easy to use, put in your year, model, etc and it will ask what dash LCD screen you have and then it will give you what works and it will tell you if you need to do any cutting, etc.

Sub (I was able to use the rear connection with this sub, would I like more bass and power? Sure, but this made it really easy and its compact.

I swapped out speakers (Morel) and noticed a bit of an upgrade in sound quality, but not overwhelming. I wasn't after "louder", but really wanted a deeper, more rich sound to the system. I travel for work so drive various rentals, so I would recognize when I was in a vehicle with a solid sound system.

After the Morel upgrade, I bit the bullet and installed a sub (10" Kicker) in a SubThump enclosure and mono amp (Kicker CXA) which made a huge difference in the sound quality. A few months later I installed the Alpine KTP-445U amp for the head unit and I'm completely satisfied with the current setup.

It is worth noting that the Alpine KTP does put the system where the alerts and tones (seatbelt chime, etc), route through the internal speaker and not the sound system as it would by default. Something to do with the resistance feedback from the speakers which makes the vehicle think the speakers are failed, so it shifts the feedback system into backup mode which uses the internal speaker, which is a really meaningless issue for me.
