Default Bald spots on my carpet.

To add to my ever growing list of problems, I am now getting bald spots on my carpet. One area was under the rear floor mat and the other under the rear seat. They seem to be growing in size. Anyone have this issue or know what gives? P.S ignore the mess. I haven't had time to vacuum it out. 2018 f150 xlt

LOL at calling that a mess. I have a Labrador that commutes with me to and from work everyday, you haven't seen a mess like that. Anyway, it looks like those two spots are probably in high traffic areas. Maybe the mats rub those two areas when you enter and exit the truck? Do the spots line up with a particular part of the floor mats? Do your feet come in contact with those areas frequently? I know I have a tendency to drag my left foot over the carpet when I'm getting in, but haven't experienced any loss of the carpet.

No traffic in the back. It's just me and the wife. The rear passengers are four legged and do lot leave the seat. Also the one bald spot is in the under seat storage

Is the floor mats rubbing this area? It's very strange.

Sometimes there's nothing wrong with balding where there should have been carpet.

The thing is that there is another area not covered by the floor mat which is balding as well.
