Backup sensor activating post rainfall? Driver's side
I have had this annoying problem with my 2015 F150 Lariat, supercab for quite a while Screen shot of the error after rain
. When we have a heavy rain and I place the truck in reverse it seems that the sensor from the driver's side will not shut off. This truck is just out of warranty [8 years!] and it would never reproduce itself at the dealership to aloow diagnosis and repair.
Have you had this problem? If you have what have you been able to do to fix it or mitigate it?
The WD in WD-40 stands for water displacement. It was literally made for this. Nothing wrong with dielectric grease but the WD-40 will help get the water out first.

yep, im aware of what wd stands for including the 40 for the 40th try...
WD40 helps displace water, but doesn't provide long term protection. The trailer connector on my truck was having issues thinking it had a trailer hooked up to it due to moisture corroding the 7 pin contacts. I used WD40 and only helped until the next rainfall.
In the end, I replaced the entire connector and globbed on dielectric grease. Any time a connector is disconnected, dielectric grease should be applied to protect the contacts prior to reconnecting.
