Backup/reverse LED Bulb(s)
I have a 2018 F-150 XLT, non LED tail lights, that I purchased LED reverse bulbs for from Amazon.
The bulb charts show that a 3156/3157 bulb will fit. I tried to put one in the other day and it wouldn’t fit.
am I missing something? I’ve attached a few pics.

Mine were 7443 on a 2018 XL STX. The owners manual mentioned this. Nevermind, I see the owner's manual PDF says 3156K for reversing lamps.

I’m not sure On specifics but Headlight revolution appears to do a lot of homework on their bulb choices and I’ve been really happy with the front headlights they recommend. Here is a link for reverse bulb.

Yes, 7440 for mine too. 2018 XL, KC build. Here's a link to what I'm using. They are brighter than stock and work fine:

just some guy
I went through this as well. Manual shows them as a 3156k, which near as I can tell means not a 3156 at all, but a 7440. The 3156 base is too short to plug in.
I've now got a set of brand new marsauto 3156 in my catchall drawer, too much trouble for the cost to return them. Especially when they can't be blamed for selling a spec 3156 bulb.
I ordered a pair of their 7440 LEDs and they are a perfect fit, and the difference over the stock bulb is literally night and day.
About $16 on Amazon

I had the opposite issue. Owners manual said 7443. Got them in, they were too long. Modded them so they would stay put, ordered 3457's. Waiting for decent weather to swap them.
***Correction***
I had the issue with the front turn signals, not the reverse.
I think someone at Ford is confused. The 7xxx bulbs appear to be the same as the 3xxx bulbs, but the seat is longer, requiring a longer socket. I was able to remove the 'bump' on both sides of the 7443 I received so they would stop pushing the bulb out of the sockets. This worked fine, but those 'bumps' also held the ends of the contacts in place, and I removed too much material on one side of one of the sockets.. A contact moved after a few weeks, triggering the short protection in the circuit for the always lit filament. Some would call that a bonus, the truck does look good with just the clearance marker illuminating the top reflector, but as I haven't converted the truck back to the US setting, the headlamps come on as soon as I put her in gear.
