Default Backup Camera Staying On

So new interesting glitch this morning. Backing up out driveway reverse cam comes on as normal. Put it into drive backup camera stays on.???? Drive down the street a bit. Turn off truck completely, display blips a few times, goes completely blue then finally shuts off. Turn truck back on and everything seems normal. Put into reverse again, camera comes on.. now go into drive.. Camera stays on! Whats the heck??? I took it through the carwash on the weekend, maybe some is wet and shorting out a bit? Anyone ever see this before?

Mine does this until i reach a certain speed and then switches back. Sounds like yours may be staying on despite this. May want to try a soft reset (Hold both the power button and scan forward button >> for 10 seconds while the vehicle is on. This will not delete anything).

There is a setting in the menus that will cause that behavior. It will keep the backup camera view live until the truck hits somewhere around 5 mph. Check the menus to see if that box is checked.

I set that and hated it, but sometimes it stsyed on forever. I coukd be going 35 MOH and it would stay on. I did find i coukd throw it into Park, then back to Drive and it stopped the display. Set it back tho, too annoying!

Not sure if it's the same thing but my wife's 2011 Explorer started doing that right before her camera crapped out. It would stay on all the time, or sometimes not come on, and the guide lines on the screen stopped showing up, eventually it stopped working altogether. Replaced the camera and now it works fine but we still can't get the lines to show up, not sure why.

My 2017 did the exact same thing when it was only a couple months old. Took it to the dealer and they did a reset and it has not did it since
