Default Back up camera malfunction?

When I go in reverse, my screen showing the camera started doing this thing where it blinks in and out. I seem to recall it might have, originally, changed views based on how close I got to something. But in this case, it just blinks around like when people lose a signal in a sci-fi movie. After a second or two of that, it comes back in, but it will again do it if I continue to back up. I didn't find this using the search function.
Thanks,
Mike Todd

Maybe no one has had an issue like this. I spoke to the dealer and they told me their "back up camera guy" is on vacation and when he's not on vacation, he is only there 2 days a week. The other days he works at other dealerships and other car makes. Seems like a crazy way to do business. I would think that Ford would have a manual and/or flow chart and an actual Ford repair guy. (I'll also mention how the dealer also has a window "guy" who also works for many other dealerships and this concerns me because it's my top panorama glass that is cracked and there are already issues with these trucks leaking with a moon roof.)

I wanted to update this thread. First day in the shop, the "back up camera guy" replace the camera but that didn't help. Then he analyzed wires leading toward the dash/cab or something like that. Each time I checked in with the service rep, he said he was hearing "almost there." They worked on it all day and kept it overnight for a final check. Then they said they thought it was "better" but that they needed to special order a part. With the ordering and a road trip in between, I finally got it back in there yesterday. He said it would be just an hour or so, but it wound up being 5 hours. Part of that was an oil change and I can be sure they were working on it the whole time (except that the rep seemed intent on getting my truck back to me as soon as possible. In the end, the problem is fixed and the part that was replaced was Audio Visual Control Assembly. According to a few layout charts I found, it seems to be the main component of the camera system besides the actual cameras. The part number is GL3Z19H405D. I post this for your reference. If you have a similar problem, out of warranty, I wonder if they would actually charge you 8-10 hours of labor because they also can't figure out the problem. From what I gather, the part costs $325 retail. It would be nice if someone could post directions about how to replace this, or tell me where I can look myself.
Thanks,
Mike Todd
