Back seat unlatch success!
The old story: Keep at it long enough and you will succeed. After many hours of attempting to get my back seat to unlatch, I finally managed to get the job done. If you have a problem getting yours to unlatch, take a look at the picture of the seat. Just take out the bolt shown with my cutout arrow. When removed the bottom of the seat pushes into the space we are trying to get to. The top of the seat comes forward enough to get your arm and a hammer in there. A few taps on the silver pin and mine released. Reason mine would not open easy was simple. It was defective. First defect I have found in my truck so far. If you look at the picture of the latch, the hole that the pin on the back wall of the cab connects into, it was so small it was a shock that the worker on the line go it to latch. More than likely he/she tried several times to get it to catch. Then one big SLAM and it caught. Trouble was it was so tight the silver release pin had to be hit with a hammer. If you look at the picture of the latch there is a rubber insert. Rubber as tough as steel. I cut enough out so the pin would fit. I went on the cheap side and used messenger wire off some coax for my pull device. I also found the little plastic and strap the worker must have dropped behind the seat.
Just keep at it long enough and.........

Turns out I bought it off Amazon. $16 and works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'll spend a couple extra bucks to support an American made company, selling American made products, supporting American households. Sorry, rant over.

Good deal! Much better than bruising and scraping the skin off your arm like I did.

Get the BuiltRight Industries latch kit for $30. Too easy after its installed. Takes all of 15 minutes to install.

This drove me crazy the first two weeks of ownership. Tried multiple times to unlatch it. I then bought one of those modified bracket/strap kits off eBay. My plan was to take it back to the dealership to see if they could unlatch it and then install the strap. The instructions in the kit said to use the closed end of a long wrench. The one tool I never thought to use. Got it in less than five minutes. It took a very hard pull to unlatch it. Mine didn't have a strap at all.
