Default AuxPump on Trans quit

Hey All,

I have the 2.7 eco. I was informed the aux electric pump for the auto start/stop quit working and the dealer wants $750 to fix it. Anyone fix this before? How difficult is it? Also where can I find a new pump for this?

Thanks

I just had mine replaced under warranty a few months ago. 750 is a lot of money. Is it's only function for the start/stop to work?

Yes that is the only function. I have 57,000 miles on it and they say it is not covered under extended powertrain because it is not essential to the operation and the start/stop can be disabled.

Yup just disable the S/S and fix it later when you have the time

Mine went out (P2796 code) on my 2015. I bought one online at Autonation Ford White Bear Lake for around $220. Part No FL3Z-7A103-D and it comes with the gasket. It's easy to replace (3 bolts). Took me about 20 min. Lost maybe 2 tablespoons of fluid. There is some kind of prime procedure that I could not find out how to do, so I did not do it. I drove the truck for a few days with auto start stop off, then tried it. I got a new code (P0C27) one time. I think I got this because I did not do the prime procedure. Cleared the code once and all has been fine ever since.

I'll see if the procedure is the manual I have.

It was not in my manual. What I found online was it was a revised installation procedure that now included a prime procedure. If I did it again I would pour a bit of ATF in the pump inlet/outlet before installation.

I would defiantly bring this to the attention of Ford corperate
The start stop feature is used by Ford in the calculation of EPA MPG est. and is not designed to be disabled unless a deliberate action is taken every time you start the truck, ergo it is an essential part of the power train and is required by EPA to meet the MPG estimate's. Certainly worth a phone call.
