Default Autounlock

I know this subject has been beat to death. But I haven't seen an answer to my specific question. Without turning off the autolock and autounlock options, is there a way to make the doors unlock when I shift it into park? There are many occasions when I need to leave the truck running and either open one of the rear doors or open the tailgate. I know I could turn off the autolock and autounlock feature, but I really don't want to.

What he said.......

Answer is always NO.

It is a minor annoyance. I rarely encounter it, if I did leave the vehicle running more frequently I would probably be trained to unlock the door when I exited.
I just got bit by it yesterday, backed up to the barrier wall to unload my dirt bike....attempted to lower the gate to see how close I was to the wall with the gate lowered but I had to walk all the way back to the opened driver door to press unlock first. Grrrrr

I just spent 4 hours MAKING a "unlock in PARK" switch in my 2016 center console shift F-150. For those of you that will say I can change this in the driver info center, you're wrong. Ford does not have an Unlock when shifted into park function when the engine is running. I had to put a wire on the inside of part of the shift lever & hook it to ground since the inside shift hardware is all plastic. then I put another wire on the hardware on the side where the first wire slides across & hooked that to the negative trigger door unlock wire. It works perfectly. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.

I have found that on my truck (2019 XLT) there is an important link between the FOB and the autounlock function. I have always had my FOB set to unlock all doors with a SINGLE push of the unlock button (actually it was the default setting and I never knew it could be changed). I appears that with that function enabled you cannot unlock ALL doors by parking the truck and opening the driver door (Haven't been able to get them to unlock simply by engaging PARK). To disable the ALL UNLOCK from the FOB; hold the lock and unlock on the fob for four seconds (I did this standing outside of the truck) lights will flash twice (I only saw the sideview mirror lights flash but I was standing to the side). This should indicate that the feature has been disabled. The unlock button on the FOB will now only unlock the driver door with a single press. Press again within three seconds to unlock all of the doors. This should now allow all doors to unlock when you open the driver door while in park, assuming you still have autounlock function enabled. You can also disable the "Remote Unlock" from ALL Doors to Driver ONLY from the menus on the drivers display.
