Default Automatic windows stop going up when hitting a bump??

I noticed yesterday when driving my new f150 that when I attempted to put my driver side front window back up and hit a bump in the road it would stop in its place and then roll back down. It only did this if I hit a bump while attempting to roll the window up using the automatic portion, meaning pulling it all the way back so it goes up on its own. Can some of you test it out on your vehicle? Find some railroad tracks or a bumpy portion of a road and while driving roll the windows up from the down position using the automatic function and while its rolling up hit some bumps to see if it stops and goes back down or just stops and doesnt move up or down? Could be a loose connection with the window actuator is my guess.

If a few of you could test it out and report back if you have this same problem, please let me know!

These and previous gen trucks have a "bounce back" feature that causes the window to roll down if an object is detected in its travel path causing the required force to close to increase. Can prove this by putting something at the top of the window and try to close it with the auto feature, it will "bounce back" and roll down 3/4 of the way. When you hit a bump while the window is in travel it can fool this feature into thinking its obstructed and "bounce back". This is a normal thing, nothing to be worried about.

Excellent! Thank you for letting me know. I guess keep this thread open for other new f150 owners who may not be aware of this feature.

You could de-initialize them:

From another post

You can try and relearn em. Sometimes helps

I got the de-initialization/initialization procedures from my dealership and had success with it. Here's the procedure they gave me. I went with the option of removing the fuse:

De-Initialization

Note: The front window motor must be de-initialized (reset to its original factory settings) before carrying out the initialization procedure.

1. Turn the ignition ON.
2. Operate the window control switch in one-touch mode and remove power from the window motor while the window is moving by one of the following methods:
a. Disconnect the vehicle battery cable while the window is moving.
b. Remove the LH or RH front window motor fuse while the window is moving.
3. This de-initializes the window motor and reset the window motor to its original factory setting
4. Carry out the initialization procedure to turn the one-touch-up feature on

Initialization

WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects In Its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result In serious personal injury.

NOTE: The front window must be in the full OPEN position for this procedure to operate correctly

NOTE: If the initialization procedure is only partially completed, the front window motor remains de-initialized and operates only in proportional up/down and one-touch¬down modes.

5. Turn the ignition ON.
6. Activate and hold the window control switch in the UP position at the second detent until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds into the glass top run and release the switch.
7. Activate and hold the window control switch in the DOWN position at the second detent until the window glass stalls for 2 seconds at the bottom of its travel and release the switch.
8. Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch-up and one-touch-down features.

Thanks, this is what I was trying to find. I bought the in channel window vent shields and when trying to put the window up the bump stop kicks in. After playing with the drivers side for a while the bum stop stopped working but couldn't get the pass side to do the same. I thought there must be a way to disable it. I wonder if there is another way to disable without removing the power, seems as tho I did it to the drivers side by accident.
