to clear the air- my bil is no mechanic, nor a liar(why go there) but i get your point-i was a wrench for many years too. he was a teamster's union, car hauler of ford products. he is very familiar with all the controls for a long period. in the situation you found my grammer,etc., lacking i'll try again. surgery and one hand typing is a bitch.
he was saying that the older model super duty ford trucks equipped with 4x4 auto-they had a known problem wherein the throttle would stick and on. he was up in the air trying to drive a truck, so equipped, off his carrier. the throttle stuck and he and the truck landed on the pavement behind the trailer. his boss , who was not yet clear on the scenario, asked him how he got out of the truck. he is a smart axx -like me- and said, i opened the door of the truck. he was simply telling me that the trucks set up with the early version of 4wd as is the point of this thread- they had a throttle sticks on problem.
i know it's a long way around to think that problem remains an issue today but as he told it it was a cute tale.

 

Hi guys,
I'm in the auto industry 30 years (work for BMW 22 years). I know my way around cars/trucks. I have a 2015 King Ranch 3.5 EB on order with 3.31 gears. Did I miss something? I am unaware of the automatic 4WD. Is it standard because I did not see it when I picked my options online? I just sold me 2009 F250 Cabelas Edition also. Is there a setting to choose if it's standard to engage this feature? I only knew of 2WD, 4WD H and L.

Standard on Lariat and above.
The **** has an extra setting.

 

Nice, that sounds promising. Are there thoughts of fuel economy using that setting vs. 2WD normal mode?

On the **** it shows something like 2h 4a 4h 4l auto mode is like making it all wheel drive rough though I used it a couple times spotty roads and such you will feel a difference when u in it

 

If it works as described then you will lose some fuel economy with auto mode. I'd only use it when in bad weather.

 

Agreed. I like the idea of Auto 4WD rather than going into 4WD (unless significant snow)...

On a different note, I know the wheel liners are spoken of in other threads, but does anyone know if the "delayed" option is for both front and rear of the truck? I really want the option and my truck hasn't been confirmed with production yet. Do I need to take this question to a different thread?

 

Your truck will be delivered with front wheel liners...they're standard equipment.
