Default Auto windshield wipers

2015 Platinum I have, sometimes the wipers will just come on even on a dry day. Just one swipe and then back down. I do have a cracked windshield, I wonder if this the cause.

Mine will do the same thing if I leave the wipers turned on after a rain. Sometimes it can be several days before it happens. Since we can go weeks without rain here, I usually turn the wipers off when it happens. It is just how they work.

At times my sensing wipers will make one sweep when I think there is no moisture (but there is one microspot of wet) and other times while driving in intermittent rain they seem to take a lot longer to sweep than I wish they would. Were these designed by a woman?
