Default Auto Windshield Wiper

2016 F-150 Platinum screw. My wipers will go into high speed with a light rain sometimes. I usually have to turn them off and then back on so they stay at the normal speed. Anyone else experience this, I am not liking the auto option too much. It is also difficult to find the correct intermittent speed setting, I would have thought that the rain falling on the windshield would direct the wipers to operate, maybe not?

Having the same experience. Light sprinkle and the wipers are like they are on medium speed.

I drove a rental Suburban a couple months ago and the auto wipers worked great, set them one time and the kept the windshield dry without having to adjust anything.

I hate the auto wipers. Had them on my 2011 Explorer. They would go on when sunny and high speed in light rain. Ended up just turning the auto wipers off

Would never get them again. Totally useless IMO

I only have had them falsely turn on when the truck is dirty.

Thanks for the reply, I thought they would be good to have here in Washington State, I will be turning this feature off.

My Mercedes had auto wipers and it only gave one wipe because the window is dry again after that! Worked great and a terrific feature. As good as Mercedes' cruise control, without all the friggin steering wheel buttons that make no sense!

Yours probably needs a visit to the dealer.

I've had auto wipers in a couple Jeep Grand Cherokee's I've owned in the past (2006 and 2008) and they both worked better than my 2015 F150.

Wow! I must be lucky! I haven't experienced excessive or high speed wiping when not needed. My auto wipers are at least as good as those on my Grand Cherokee.

I noticed that no one has even mentioned adjusting the sensitivity of the wipers. Does that make it better or worse?

The sensitivity doesn't seem to make much of difference. Sometimes in light rain they wipe often, but when it's raining a moderate amount they don't seem to wipe often enough. That's my main complaint.
