Several days ago, I went out to use my truck after it had sat for several days while I was under the weather. The SYNC screen looked very odd and incomplete, and shortly after I turned it on, I got a message saying Sirius XM was updating. Even after that finished, the screen looked really odd:
I figured I must have caught the system in the middle of getting an automatic update. After a few minutes, it seemed to work OK but it still looked very odd and incomplete. This morning, after a couple more days, I went out and it looks like this:
This still looks like an unfinished beta version of software, so I'm hoping this is not the final appearance for SYNC. Is it? I don't understand why it would take days and still not be finished with its update.
If, by some chance, this is the final look for the updated software, is there any way to roll the appearance back so it looks like the original version. This is pretty awful and not very easy to read.
Similar thing here. Got in my truck to go to work this morning and got an odd looking blue screen. I keep my screen set on night mode because the black screen matches the black interior and looks better than the blue screen. Also got a message that Sync 3 had updated even though I have automatic updates is turned off. I also had no Siriusxm. Got to work 30 minutes later after playing with it noticed the nav screen showed the truck still at home 22 miles away, no gps.
Called Ford made an appointment for Friday morning. Had to run an errand couple of hours later.. Sattilite was back now, nav working properly. Had to refresh Sirius to get it working.
But now I have white day mode and blue night mode and it looks very different. Down right ugly actually. Night mode will turn the nav screen black but the rest stays blue. Thanks alot Ford!
I wonder if forcing it to soft reset would bring back the familiar interface. Hold Power and Next Track for 5 seconds and your radio should reboot itself.
I updated my 19 with a usb thumb drive and it did something similar. It seemed to be the screen colors / background settings were the problem. Had the old theme and new theme sort of combined into 1 and didn't look right.
Fixed it by selecting a new backgound with the new 3.4 software and all is well now. Give it a try.
