Have my F150 1 week and already did the jumper wire to disable it. Today while driving, the light built into the switch went dark. *** was still disabled, but light was out.
Later re started the truck and the light was functioning again. Also, at one point the *** momentarily became functional. Anyone else experience this?
The jumper wire is in solid. I soldered the ends and jammed them in there.
Great name for the function..... ***.

 

I did the same jumper thing and no problems. Light stays lit all the time. Maybe the jumper is not as tight as you think. It may have come intermittently loose. It's easy enough to reseat it.

 

Yeah thought about that. If it happens again, I'll pull it.

 

Checked the jumper this morning. It's in there tight. Wiggled it and the light stayed lit. Don't know what caused the temporary malfunction.

 

How do you get the switch out of the dash?

 

you have to pull the center panel fascia which requires the catch console above to be removed.

 

Not sure if you know … but, forscan now has the mod to permanently disable the *** system.
