Default Auto fold mirrors question

I have a 2017 F150 XLT 3.5L that has good size mirrors. Does anyone here know what would be involved to add auto folding mirrors and about how much it would cost?

Read the FORScan thread sticky at the top.

You’ll need to buy an OBD2 adapter (I’d recommend the OBDLink EX) and download FORScan.

Also, what does “I have good size mirrors” mean?

Default Full size Tow Mirrors

They are full size Tow mirrors. The dealership quoted $1700 per mirror which is way more than I want to spend. See pic of the mirror I have now.

Yeah, read the FORScan thread. I believe for tow mirrors, there are a few wires that need to be swapped around to make it work.

You also don't specify if your current mirrors are even power fold or not now? We can assume they are since your asking to enable auto fold, but based on dealer quote of $1700 each, sounds like they were going to sell you a set of power fold.
If you don't currently have power fold, then yeah, new mirrors, the controls that include the power fold functions, forscan updates etc...

Why would he be asking what it would take/how much it would cost to add auto folding mirrors if his current mirrors were power fold mirrors?

why i said we can assume. he also said "good size mirrors" and mentioned an XLT which power fold isn't standard. He then posts a pic that they are tow, have the heat emblem, but don't show the BLIS icon. Dealer also says they want to charge $1700 PER mirror, which sounds like power fold tow mirror pricing. So better to ask to clarify what he has, then point to forscan when he may need a whole slew of stuff and not just a $30 cable, Forscan and a laptop.

Also, I see you have been on here a while, so you see the kind of crazy questions people post here.
