Audio Upgrade HELP!
I have been wanting to upgrade my speakers and get an amp. I want to keep the head unit as it works great and I like it. I would like to be around 2k as thats what I have saved up. I am not going to go this one myself and plan on using Best Buy for the installation and probably purchase since they price match.
I do not have anywhere near the experience many here do so I am asking to know what you guys would install for equipment.

Do you have an ecoboost engine?, may not want to amplify any false engine noises, and/or door chimes. What system is in your truck?

I'm pretty sure the XLT regular audio system doesn't do the gals engine noise.
2000 is a pretty good budget. I would advise against Best Buy(I installed there for 3 years), unless you find a good one with good installers. if you want to keep the factory head unit, you need a shop with more tuning ability. For 2000 I would choose
Amp- RF Prime 600X5
Processeer-
Sub- something like this 2 8's or 1 slim 10" should cost more then 2-300$ and the box should be a simle build.
Front speakers-what ever components you like in the 3-500$ range. I suggest looking at Hertz Audio HSK 165
Don't worry about rear speakers, you don't sit in the back, they only drag the soundstage rearward. Just run the stock speakers of the head units power. Run the front speakers bridged of the amp to get them the most power.
230 for the amp
200 for the audio control
300ish for subs
400 speakers
Your at 1130 for gear, that should be plenty of budget for install. Make sure to include sound deadening in that though.

I was looking at Best Buy for the warranty and backing up the work should it be FUBAR. Local shops around me are pretty shaddy. At least the ones I know of.

Good luck with BB. I can't imagine anything other than a hack job with bass that sounds terrible. Try calling a few local shops and see who has more experience with '15-'16 F150 installs. They probably offer a better sound quality, warranty, and have more experience.

I had car toys install my sub. They warranty the work if you have one near you. I was going to use another shop but the reviews on Yelp were pretty bad so I ended up paying a little more for car toys to install. I'm not a fan of Best Buy either. When Circuit City was around they seemed to do good work.

I just saw you are in Houston too. Houston Car Stereo, Stereo Hut, and Car Toys do good work. If you go to Stereo Hut the Asian guy at the counter is Steve, great guy to deal with if you are looking to do a custom box and replace all the speakers. If you just want to add an 8 or 10 inch sub probably just go to Car Toys.
