Well first, most trucks aren't close to 700 lbs lighter but again. We are talking this model truck not comparing models.... And the fibermax backflip has a shipping weight of 60 lbs so it is irrelevant on. 5500-6000 lb truck.

A cover does save mpg but it would take a while to have it pay off....

I think we can save gas if you have bed cover.

Also we can save money but not now. It takes for a while to make even for the price of your tonneau cover.

If you are looking to save gas, buy a Hybrid. Whatever MPG gains there are with a cover will take tens of thousands of miles to make any difference.

Buy it for looks, buy it for security, but dont buy it on the myth it will save gas.

Holy crap was I living in a cloud of BS dust. Hard to believe but the proof looks way more accurate than I would be able to prove.

Now what about the BS of filling your tires with nitrogen, That's sounds like another money making scam.

I actually gained .25mpg by adding my tonneau cover and subtracting the weight of 7 Benjamin's in my wallet. But then almost immediately lost .5mpg by adding the 75lbs of weight to the top of by truck bed when I installed it.

I could not notice any gain in mileage whatsoever with my SCrew and 5.5' bed. I wanted to believe badly but I just don't live in Egypt.

Maybe a Standard Cab long bed might have a different result. ?????
