Just got back from a family vacation yesterday. My family of 5 loaded up our truck and hit the road to Tucson, AZ from central Illinois last Friday. 3 days of driving with stops in Kansas and New Mexico on thwe way down and not a complaint from anyone about the truck, including the truck itself. We did the same in reverse on the way home. The trip overall was a great time for us all. I just wanted to through out there that it was great not worrying about the truck and how well it handled the travels.
In total: over 3700 miles, 17.2 mpg, several fast food stops, countless bugs splattered, and 2 rock chips in the windshield. Now to give it a good wash and a hug and give my insurance a call about the rock chips.
Good to hear! We're going to Orlando FL this October from Ohio, and we'll have three adults and two 16 yr old's. Also taking my '20 Screw for that reason. Should have plenty of room for everyone, along with the luggage in the bed!

We actually may be doing Orlando within the next year too! We've done it several times before, but that drive is getting tiresome. It's amazing how much room the rear of the SuperCrew has, just be sure to limit how much "junk" the younger ones thing they need to ride with, lol. And agreed, the nearly unlimited trunk space was a huge bonus! There's no way we could've packed the way we did and taken my wife's 2018 Explorer Platinum, especially with how much stuff we brought back.
I can imagine. Yeah, it looks to be about 15 hrs. Had thought about doing it straight thru as we'll have at least 3 drivers, and possibly a 4th if the daughter wants to give it a shot on the interstate for awhile. Looks like we might be stopping off near Savannah GA and then making the rest of the trip the next day.
We had looked at flights, but by the time you factor luggage fees, potentially needing a rental car, etc..we're cheaper to just drive it even with fuel cost. The 3.5L Eco should see around 20 mpg I'm hoping, and with the 36 gal tank we wont have to stop very often. Well, at least not for gas!

My wife's grandparents used to live in The Villages about an hour north of Orlando, so we'd drive all night to get to their place the day before going to Disney. We'd stay the night with them to recharge and then head to Disney the next morning, and we did the same in reverse at the end of the trip. They no longer have a home down there, so the last time we went to Disney we stopped and stayed the night at a hotel in Gainesville. As for your cost comparison, I totally get it! But for us, I'm thinking I'll pay the premium for the convenience of flying next time. I've done too many 12+ hour drives.

Just completed about 1/2 the trip you did and I feel the same. Central MO to Ft Collins CO at little less than 2000 miles and 17.9mpg. Wife drove about 4hrs through KS and we both loved the feel of this vehicle.
I am just about 1600-1700 miles on my new 23 Lariat and also love it. Mine is a 4WD, 5.0 with 3.31 electronic locker crew cab with the 5'-7" bed. I put a MX4 Backflip bed cover and tinted the windows. So far I am averaging 20 MPG hand calculated mostly because I drive conservative and have a mostly highway commute of 28 miles each way. Previously I have had Ram trucks with 2 being 2500 diesels and 2 Ram 1500 gas 5.7L. Compared to the 2019 Ram which also had a 3.92 axle the 5.0 Ford with the 3.31 feels wy quicker off the line which is odd with the taller gear in the Ford. In normal mode I find it to be a bit touchy with the throttle and actually prefer the eco mode as it makes throttle response a bit more sluggish.
The favorite feature on this one to me is the 36Gal tank. My Longhorn ram had 26 and it was ok but with the 36 it's crazy how far I can drive. My wife highlander is lucky to go 300 miles and I can double that before filling up. The Ram had a slightly better ride because of the rear coil suspension it was softer but I prefer the look of the F150 and always have. I wish I could have found a KingRanch to have the upgrades it offers but I am really happy with the Lariat so far and I dont mind the transmission extra shifting. I am almost 60 now and I have learned not to let every little thing bother me and that one doesn't.
I am hoping I can find a better way to setup the Nav to get to weather easier though. As it is now I have to press 4 buttons to get to the weather. Surely there has to be a way to make that faster and easier.
