I have a 2013 F-150 that I got in 2016. I went to have software updated 8/11/18 at Crossroads Ford in Cary, NC on my SYNC my touch. They stated that system may not work after they see what updates are needed. Sure enough system is dead and need a new one and that I would have to purchase. Also, just found out that there was a warranty for 5 years on the module. No one at this Ford dealership mentioned this when truck has been serviced there for the past 2 years and now that the dealership killed my system, the warranty expired in March and I am left with the bill. The dealership told me that 1 in 5 cars crashed and one other crashed the same day as mine, so why if the number is so high are they not covering this module longer. Little suspcious on their own product not working. Feeling cheated on this one.
