APIM module
I have a 2016 lariat with sync 3. When my phone connects the volume is extremely low. I had it at the dealership for routine maintenance and told them to check it out. They said the apim module was going out and needed to be replaced for $1,300? Also the radio stopped working once they standard messing with it...
My question is can I get this some place cheaper and install myself? Is it pretty straight forward?
Also is there a newer version I can get with more functional and be compatible? I hate putting in outdated tech....

Also, my dealer says the replacement part is p/n: GJ5Z-14G371-K. I found some that are GB5T-14G371-CF and HC3T-14F014-BD are they interchangeable? Is there a chart or doc that shows the versions of these things?

I'm pretty sure it's interchangeable. Plug HC3T-14F014-BD into google or a Ford parts seller to see if it's interchangeable. .
