Hello everyone! I know this is the F150 Forum but want to ask on here as well. We bought a 2016 Convertible Mustang several weeks ago. We love it. I wanted to upgrade the radio(APIM) from Sync 3 v1.0 to Sync 3 v3.0 (at least). No matter what I tried I cant get it to update. Even tried going to v2.2 first. Nothing. It always errors out. Yesterday I bit the bullet and went to dealership. They said sure no problem. Two hours later.... The service tech comes back with a report from Ford that says the original version was Sync 3 v1.7 but now its v1.0. They tell me the APIM is shot and he couldn't even force load the correct files. First question is of course, is the APIM shot? It works just no carplay etc. Second question, can I get any APIM and use forscan to reprogram this to make it work in a Mustang. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'd prefer not to buy a brand new one but if I must I will.

Shoot me a message. I can troubleshoot this for you if you are willing to send me your APIM. I have tools the dealer won't have.
