I have a new 2019 F150 XLT 5.0 truck. I've had my truck for a little more that 1 month. Had an issue with the voice control and took it to the dealer to take a look at it. It was determined the APIM is bad and will need to be replaced. I was told the part would be here next day. Then was told it should take 3 days. After the 3 days, no one from the dealership called me till day (4 days later) and was told there's a backorder on APIMs. It's about a 3-4 week delay.

Anyone else recently had their APIM replaced and was told there's a 3-4 week backorder?

I've had APIMs replaced in my 2016 and 2018 F150... in both cases, the APIMs were on backorder. With the failure rate of that module, they're likely on perpetual backorder!

 

that's horrible, ask for a loaner truck

 

I did. They won't have any until the end of Jan 2020 due to the backlog on current work orders. The CSR stated they're working on a lot of transmission issue on trucks. None available.

 

That's horrible man. Have you tried going to a different dealer?
