I've not done it on this truck but have on past vehicles. It's straight forward wiring positive and negative terminals. You may need to make a pigtail to retain the OEM connector or cut the wires, remove the connector and add new connections to fit the replacement.

Several over the years, I don't recall the brand or types. They weren't expensive though. I just needed something to make noise that would pass inspection.

The Stebel Nautilus is a great choice, if you're not looking for something over the top. It's very common in the motorcycle world, but loud and small.

I’ve been looking at horn replacement to as well. I’m on my second factory horn, and it’s already failing. On the original one, the low frequency side just quit. Got it replaced about a month ago, and the high frequency side just went out today. I don’t feel I’m over using it (my wife might disagree with that statement LOL)
Im considering wiring up a horn like what’s used on emergency vehicles, like ambulances and fire trucks, I have a couple speakers and controllers laying around I can mess with. That would certainly be loud enough.

Eh, why? Leave the lights and sirens to public safety. Also keep in mind that most of those controllers probably have siren functions as well - even being equipped with siren tones is illegal in many states.

Look, I install emergency vehicle equipment for a living and have for years. Yes, while those controllers do have a siren function, the horn can be hooked up separately.
And in all 50 states, you can have them.....useage of such on public roads by non-emergency personnel is the illegal part. The horn section can legally be used as a “warning” device but likely not as the primary function for warning by passenger vehicles.
Especially on vehicles in states that have inspections (I live in Florida so I don’t have to worry about that), also how would you explain the train horns and air horns on lifted (and sometimes not lifted) trucks running around.
Use it in the road in the vicinity of law enforcement and expect a ticket at a minimum.
I wasnt saying everyone should go out and install one of these types of horns, but people can do what they want.
Youre entitled to your opinon of course. 😀
