Default Anyone put a push button release on their tailgate?

I think the remote tailgate release is pretty great on our trucks. My only complaint is that if I want to use it I have to dig my keys out of my pocket. I was thinking of adding a push button release inside the cab.

Has anyone done this or know where I could get a look at the wiring diagrams for a 2015?

Thanks,

Dan

If you have buttons on your door to unlock / lock using a code there is also a code that will release the tail gate, I can't recall what the code was, try doing a search for it.

Here it is, punch in your code and then hit the 5/6 button

But, if the truck is already unlocked, say just sitting in the driveway at home, can you open the tailgate without the key fob? I don't have my 2016 yet, so I'm wondering how this works.

You push the button under the handle on the tailgate. If you have your FOB or the truck is unlocked, it will open.

I think what he wants is a button in the cab to open the tailgate. I too am interested in this.

Yes you can open the tail gate with out the FOB using the keypad code.

I'm not the tech guy to answer this but... Is it possible you can use a home link button to "memorize" the button push on the remote? That would be the easiest and optimal with no extra buttons and keeping the stock look. Anyone???

Good idea! That certainly would make it a lot easier instead of trying to install a button.
