Here's a new one for me...
Driving into work on a super windy day where I'm going against the wind I can hear a rattle in the cab. Almost sounds like it's coming from the vents. This is just a guess but it seems that way. I've looked around for anything that may be loose but I haven't seen anything yet. Anyone else experience this before? Only happens when the wind is super strong. Seems to have only started this past while since I've never noticed it before when the wind is strong. Definitely not any type of wind noise. Sounds like it's getting in the engine bay and causing the noise.
Some trucks, and I think F150’s have them, have a pair of vents in the back of the cab. One on each side. I always assume these are there to equalize air pressure when shutting the doors. I wonder if on really windy days you get a positive air pressure in the cab and you hear those vents working.
Have you had the cowl grille off, say, to change a windshield? When I had my first windshield replaced, the shop lost or broke several of the clips that holds it in place and it is pretty loose. I've always been going to get replacement clips, just never got around to it yet. I've never experienced it flapping enough to hear, but that may only mean I need to turn the stereo down.

W714030-S424 is what is missing on my truck.
It's never been replaced, not to say something may not be loose/broke due to some ice build up. I'll take a look and see if the cowl panel is loose or not.
