Title is pretty explanatory here.

I'm curious if anyone with an XL or XLT with the chrome appearance package (chrome bumpers) has swapped out just their door handles with the chrome component, but left the rear portion of the handle black still? Outside of cosmetics, the reason I am considering this is that the paint behind handles gets scratched up really quick in my family.


Anybody good with photoshop want to try it on this pic? I just saw how easy these were to remove in another thread and they aren't too pricey, and in my opinion there is already a good mix of black and chrome and this may compliment it.

I did the cheap chrome covers on my 2015. Did just the handle and then the mirror caps. I think it was around $50 total on eBay.

THose pics are tiny but from what I can see it looks pretty good! I like the black + chrome mix. If you have any more close up pics I would love to see them.

My door handles are chrome with the backside of the handle a black texture, and the surrounding area is painted to match truck

I'm looking for the area you mention as paint matched to be the black texture as well.

I just bought mine with every chrome accessory stuck on it. I ditched the wheel covers, will be ditching the Harley text on bedside next. Trying to find some PTM handles.

Yep, did this on my 17. I wanted chrome handles, but didn't want the stick on covers or the trouble of painting and installing the complete handle assembly. Very pleased with the results. I also did oem mirror caps and the complete tailgate handle assembly.
