Hey wait, I am a working man in construction and drive a fluffy 502a. And yes hands on not just a pencil dude. Not yet anyways.
In all honesty I would be happy with an xlt if I could get the safety features on the lariat.

yeah, styling and looks is up to each person. definitely can use the competition though, Ford certainly has a history of sitting on their butts for years (re: OBS gen & original SD - they rode those trains for 17 years each). the rebel is probably one of the coolest looking stock trucks you can get - the 2018 body style anyway, IMO. But I think there was a lost opportunity with both to really make some inroads. maybe as more info comes out that might change but so far... A friend of mine took a bath on two Silverados (GM puts way too much cash on the hood, makes them cheaper to buy new but it ruins the trade in value) so he got a rebel this time, thought it looked the best. I personally don't see anything yet compelling enough to make me jump ship. Totally want Ford to open the ordering catalog up more than it is, way too restrictive. Want the sport wheels on a lariat? put the damn things on! Keyless on an XLT? should be an option too. The console - ditto. shut up and take my money! they build at least 2,500 of these a day, the parts are sitting there, charge me and put them on. /rant
