Antenna X short antenna
Disclaimer:
I have no affiliation with this company. I am just providing a review of their product for other potential buyers.
I eliminated my stock antenna so that I can get under the bar without rubbing at the touch-less car wash. After reading some of the poster's reviews on short(er) antennas that they purchased, I decided to go with the Antenna X product, 13" antenna. Installed in less than 2 minutes. Zero loss/difference in reception. No issues with fitment. The adapter fits perfectly and provides a clean, finished look. For those looking to cut their stock antenna, I would just purchase this one because it is very easy to DIY. Cost me $27 CAD, all inclusive.
Hope this helps

I was debating getting one too. I'm glad I did. I think that the stubby antennas cause reception issues. I'll check for whistling after work, but I don't think that there is any to be quite honest with you.

Why not go antenna-less?..the look is great..un-cluttered...I only XM or memory stick..so its not needed. no wind noise, clean look. I have it in the back on the floor if I need it.

Never thought of it. No whistling or wind noise either. If one were to go antenna-less, they would have to cap the hole left by the removed stock antenna.

[QUOTE=okie1fifty;5198628]FWIW.... I used a stubby from cravenspeed and lost reception. I bought the antenna X and got wind noise. I cut my stock one down and stuck the ball back on, works and looks great.[/QUOTE
Me to works great saved the $27.
