Another XLT LED Question - OEM LED vs Bulbs
This is really for those who have done the halogen to LED conversion.
Does anyone have any experience with putting LED bulbs like the 4x4 or Supernova, in the halogen housing, to compare to OEM LED headlights?
Trying to weigh the performance of the 2 options, regardless of cost.
Please leave cost out of your assessment. I'm looking for pure performance.

LED lamps need to be specifically designed (like OEM) or at least be in a projector housing (Anzo). Otherwise, you'll splatter light everywhere and blind oncoming drivers.
I went with Anzos + LED bulbs. Couldn't justify the cost of OEM.

OEM will cost you $1,650 from Raptor Retrofit
Aftermarket will cost you $330 (without discounts)
So BIG cost savings over the aftermarket.
You'll get more light output from the aftermarket, however more focused light from the OEM LED.
What most folks do is put the Anzos in, which would cost you $550 for the housings and $340 for all the bulbs. So you'd be looking at $890 before discounts compared to $1,650 for OEM.
Anzos w/LED give you projection and similar light output as the OEM, if not more light output.
OEM LED are nice. Ford won awards for their design, but it's proprietary and expensive, BUT it's factory.
So it's really up to you. Both are great choices. When I first got my F-150 I didn't want to spend $1,650 on the OEM LEDs so I did the aftermarket and ended up starting my company to help other Ford owners when I could not find a quality kit.
Do you have deep pockets? If so, the OEM LED might be for you. If not, the aftermarket LED kits might be for you.
I know you said leave out cost but other folks wonder the same as you so the cost is for them.
Performance wise I'd probably say the OEM LED would be the preferred method since it's a solid unit from Ford and it's not aftermarket. It's all sealed as well (the LED units are sealed and placed inside the housing... the housing doesn't actually DO anything other then HOLD the LED system whereas on the aftermarket you are USING the housing for light to bounce off of)

I am running some fanless LEDs I bought on Amazon. They weren't as expensive as the Putcos, but still some of the higher priced ones and great reviews.
I wouldn't go back to halogen. The LED is a much nicer night time drive. They are aimed right and people don't flash me. The LED light does not scatter like mentioned above. HID will scatter, and OEM use a mechanical dimmer to run dim them.

I have a set of new OEM LED headlights for sale in the classifieds, $800 shipped if you are interested. I love the ones in my truck but haven't seen any of the others so can't compare. Usually put HIDs in my trucks as soon as I get them but the factory LEDs are far superior to any HIDs I've used.

9005s and H11 for H & L
Fog (this one is a tight fit but fits with patience)
I was nervous about the 6500 color range being too cool, but there is no blue tinge so that makes me happy.
My only complaint is that to get the heat sinks and LED driver in the headlight housing the cap was hard to get back on. I am currently seeing some larger caps to seal the hole up better. My Left assembly fogs up when I go thru the car wash because the cap popped off partially.
They make brighter lumen bulbs but these really seem sufficient and I do not get flashed by other traffic. (4000lm per bulb)
The indexing was spot on, the LEDs face the reflector perfectly. I think that's pretty important for the light performance and not blinding oncoming traffic.
