Default Another NAV question...Sorry

Been reading through the NAV threads and not finding what I'm looking for.
For me, I keep a truck for very long term, so already know that no matter how good the trucks system, cell phone technology will surpass the trucks NAV over time. For this reason it's not really worth the money to me.

My question is: Is there any other functionality or feature that would come with NAV on a Lariat 502 package that I won't get on 502 without NAV. Will be getting all other tech available but the build site is letting me choose NAV as stand alone and doesn't show if I get any other goodies with it. So again, is there anything else I'll be missing if I don't get NAV that might make it worth buying?
Thanks in advance.

I can't speak specifically to the Lariet packages, but when I ordered my XLT I initially ordered it without NAV. My salesman found a factory rebate that made the navigation addition cost about $250, for that money over the life of the truck, it seemed worth it even if I use my phone most of the time; just to have another option. I hated the Ford Nav in my 13' F150, it was awful and pretty much worthless, but it increased the resale value by quite a bit. The new system is leaps and bounds better and very nicely integrated.

I don't think there are any other features that you'll be missing if you don't get it though. The 8" screen Sync 3 system has all of the same features with or without Nav. For long term though, don't be surprised if in the future cellular providers and app developers don't start capitalizing on the move toward device integration into vehicles.

So if you don't have NAV on a 2018, and you have an IPhone, can you use Google maps and have the screen in the truck show the maps ?? I know some brands claim this

I expect that will happen long before I get rid of the new truck, and in ways we aren't thinking about today.

With Apple and Apple carplay you get Apple maps, with Android and Androidauto you get google maps or waze.

On Android auto you also get better integration for Spotify and Pandora and a few other Android auto enabled apps. Same goes for Apple carplay with i am not familiar with that as i don't have any Apple products.
