Have searched so if already in a thread am sorry but did not find it.....

Recently purchased 2020 F150 King Ranch with utilizes the proximity fob. I typically keep 3 keys/fobs (Mine, Wife, Spare) however given the remote keypad thought would leave a 4th in a Faraday bag in the truck in case of extreme emergency. Dealer wanted $250 per fob + ~$150 to program and insisted I could not program myself (had 2 working fobs).

Picked up 2 fobs from NorthCoast keys, using the 2 working fobs & backup slot programed 1st one with no problem (after some sequence trial & error). Trying to program the 2nd received a dash message that maximum # of keys programed, looking into settings shows 4 (max per owners manual) fobs programed.

Any ideas on how I might delete 1 & program my 4th? Guess could also delete 2 if needed as would still leave me with 2 working.

can't help about deleting a programmed key but an FYI if you pull the battery from the FOB you can store it inside the truck without the need for a Faraday bag. Just drop it in the hidden slot under the cupholder and the truck will start without a battery in the FOB.

 

You can have the dealer delete keys with the IDS. Check a different dealer though, 150 to program is too much.
