Default Another first towing experience.

I have a 16 screw with the 3.5, 3.55 gears and max tow. Which is an upgrade from my old 5.0 with 3.55s. overall I am very impressed with the new truck. I was towing a 97 BMW 750 IL about a 4700 lbs car. On a U-Haul car trailer. Maybe 1500-2000lbs. So right about 6500 with the stuff in the bed. According to the trucks mpg I managed to get 14 mpg going 65 almost the whole way, Victoria TX to Midland TX. 600 miles. Mostly flat with ''rolling hills". The truck handled the weight well got good gas mileage and had plenty of power to pass. Just have to get the bugs off the front now...

Sounds like a pleasant experience. Anytime you encounter little to no sway and get great gas mileage it is a great towing experience. Thanks for the report. Way to drive a safe speed.

There was some sway, due to cross wind. Can't blame the truck for that. And one of the reasons I kept the speed low. It was hard going 65, most of the roads were 75.

I would also imagine that towing an aerodynamic vehicle helps also. Lol. When I tow my camper about 7000 lbs, I get maybe 10 mpg but it's a big brick. Good report thanks for the info!
