I've been having issues for a while now (19 3.5 lariat) it started about 10k ago . It would hunt for gears and the usual stuff most people have had. It did get a lot better once I changed to the upgraded thermostat . I have taken it in to ford for trans change and re flash, had numerous fluid changes over it's life of 86k. I did try to shut off the adaptive learning with forscan a couple of weeks ago but it drove better with it on . This time I to my local guy (don't really trust the dealers on this) for another re flash. He drove it and did another re-flash and says it seems like a programming and module issue not so much mechanical, quoted me about $2500 or so which doesn't seem terrible . My real issue is if that doesn't fix it then it will be a **** ton more money so don't want to put 10k into a 20k truck as the turbos will probably go next . It really sucks how bad these transmission are now in a 70k truck

 

What exactly does “$2500” get you?

 

I guess they would put in a new shift module and such but yeah now that I think about about that does seem like a lot . Maybe I'll keep appointment with the dealer and see what they say . Being that's its out of warranty they will probably say new tranny lol
