I have a 2018 F150 FX4. In my Mysync 3 settings I am missing the android auto preferences icon. I have the Apple car play icon but not Android.
I updated to JR3T-14G381-AM SYNC3 v3.0. My Android phone has car play installed and I have it connected via USB to the console.
Anyone know how I can get the Android Auto Preferences icon to show up in my settings menu so I can enable Mysync to work with my phone?

 

Have you already setup Android Auto on your phone? You may need to check the setup on your phone while connected to the truck first before the Android Auto options will show up on the truck. I would remove Android auto from your phone and install it again and the connect the phone to your running truck. This will then guide you on your phone to setup Android Auto and after that, the settings may pop up on your trucks headunit.

 

Solved: Found out what the issue was. I used a different name brand USB cable and my Sync unit recognized my phone. So using a good USB cable makes a big difference.

 

I had the same problem. Uninstalled Android auto, just let my phone connect straight to the trucks blue tooth. problem solved for me.
